8th Forum of Young Geoinformaticians 2014,
to be held at the Technical University in Zvolen in days
5. - 6. June 2014
The Forum of Young Geoinformaticians is oriented for meeting and presentation of PhD. students research activities in geoinformatics. The level of scientific papers is supported with highly specialized reviewers from the fields of education, science and research. The private sector actively participates at the Forum, what is very helpful in linking of the real requirements of the public with the scientific ambitions of young researchers. The main output is reviewed proceeding of papers.
The Technical University in Zvolen organizes the Forum of Young Geoinformaticians since 2005. The organizers are always PhD. students from the Department of Forest Management and Geodesy at Faculty of Forestry. The professional supervisor is prof. Ing. Ján Tuček, CSc. Till now there have been seven volumes of this event.
Selected papers, based on reviews, are going to be published also in magazine GeoScience Engineering. You can see selected papers from last year at Geoscience Engineering website (1, 2, 3, 4). Other selected papers are going to be published in GAKO and Cartographic Letters.

Part of the forum will be brainstorming on topic: "Current trends, activities and issues in the field of Geoinformatics - from global, through the European to the national level."
Forum of Young Geoinformaticians 2014 programme frame will also include a presentation of 3D Virtual CAVE at Technical University in Zvolen.
