About FYG

The Forum of Young Geoinformaticians is oriented for meeting and presentation of Ph.D. students research activities in Geoinformatics. The level of scientific papers is supported with highly specialized reviewers from the fields of education, science and research. The private sector actively participates at the Forum, what is very helpful in linking of the real requirements of the public with the scientific ambitions of young researchers.

The Technical University in Zvolen organizes the Forum of Young Geoinformaticians since 2005. The organizers are always Ph.D. students from the Department of Forest Management and Geodesy at Faculty of Forestry. The professional supervisor is prof. Ing. Ján Tuček, CSc.

The main output is reviewed proceeding of papers. Selected papers, based on reviews, are going to be published in scientific journals Kartografické listy (Slovak/Czech) and Geodetický a kartografický obzor (GaKO) (Slovak/Czech).

Articles should be sent by 6.5. 2017 in English language. Extent of the article in the category of posters is maximum 8 pages and 10 pages in category of presentations. The article must be accompanied by the following copyright statement. Article and copyright statement should be sent to fmg@tuzvo.sk.

Thanks to the support of partners of the Forum, the Forum fee for authors of articles is 0€. Conference fee for authors of the articles is covering lunch, coffee breaks and reception.

If you require accommodation the price is 12€ (standard dormitory rooms) or 15€ (above standard dormitory rooms). Please specify the category of your accomodation in the notes of registration form.

Visitors are welcome at the Forum. The Forum fee for visitors (passive participation) is 10€. In this case, it is necessary to fill the application form and send it to the following email address fmg@tuzvo.sk <

The main output of Forum of young geoinformaticians 2018 is reviewed proceedings of all submitted and approved papers. Besides the reviewed proceedings selected papers, based on reviews, are going to be published also in scientific journals.

The program committee of the magazine chooses among subscribed papers to Forum of Young Geoinformaticians 2018 and subsequently publish them in the journal. These papers can not be published in another journal.
